【摘要】:Theenvironmentalchambermethodisanacceleratedtestfordeterminingtheresistanceofwetbluetothegrowthoffungi,thecausalagentofmold.SeeTestMethodD3273.,Theenvironmentalchambermethodisusefulinestimatingtheperformanceoffungicidesandshouldassistinthepredictionofstoragetimebeforefungalgrowthbegins.Theenvironmentalchambermethodduplicatesthenaturalenvironmentinwhichwetblueisinoculatedwithfungalsporesandsubsequentlydisfiguredordiscoloredbyfungi.Theenvironmentalchambermethodmeasurestheresistanceofthetreatedwetbluetothegerminationofsporesandsubsequentvegetativegrowththatspreadsoverthesurfaceofacomparativelylargewetbluespecimenoveraperiodoffourweeks.Theenvironmentalchambercanbekeptinoculatedwithfungirepresentativeofthosefoundintanneriesbyaddingsamplesofwetbluewithfungalgrowthcurrentlyoperatingtanneries.Controlspecimensofwetbluewithoutfungicidetreatmentcanbeaddedtothechamberperiodicallytoincreaselevelsoffungalgrowthinthechamber.LeachingoffungicidefromthetestspecimenintotheagaroftencausesazoneofinhibitionoffungalgrowthinthePetridishtest,butintheenvironmentalchamberanyleachingoffungicidefromthetestspecimendripsintothewatercontainedinthechamberandthusdoesnotcausethetypesoffalsereadingsobservedinthePetridishtest.1.1Thisenvironmentalchambermethodmeasurestheresistanceofthetreatedwetbluetothegerminationofsporesandsubsequentvegetativegrowthoveraperiodoffourweeks.Thetestmethodisusefulinestimatingtheperformanceoffungicidesandshouldassistinthepredictionofstoragetimeofwetbluebeforefungalgrowthbegins.Theapparatusisdesignedsoitcanbeeasilybuiltorobtainedbyanyinterestedpartyandduplicatethenaturalenvironmentinwhichwetblueisinoculatedwithfungalspores.Sporesthatgerminateonuntreatedortreatedwetbluecanproducefungalgrowth,resultingindisfigurementordiscoloration,orboth,ofthewetblue..1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
